The school is currently offering shelter and rice meals to 659 people, who are sleeping in classrooms. Tropical Cyclone Eloise made landfall around 2:30am on 23 January 2021, with wind speeds of 160 kilometres per hour. The worst of the storm's winds are over, but flooding remains a major threat in the days to come. With many key communications systems down, UNICEF emergency teams are on the ground assessing the situation to design quick and efficient relief response. The immediate identified needs are shelter, food, water, medical attention and the protection of children from abuse and exploitation.View more with similar tones © UNICEF/UN0405572/Franco2021COUNTRIES:MozambiqueUnique identifier:UN0405572Source name:Ricardo FrancoDocument Date:January 23, 2021Download document informationDownloadShareKEYWORDS:climate change-Emergencies-flood-hurricaneIn-house Identifier:Unicef_Cyclone_Eloise_SAMORA_MACHEL_SCHOOL-17File Import date:January 23, 2021UNICEF Office:HeadquartersSize:6720px × 4480px (~86 MB)Color:ColorFile type:jpgParent folder:Tropical Cyclone Eloise - Mozambique - 2021Related Assets:View All
